Take a look what 24 crazy dancers did this morning for the love of square dancing - getting up way before the sun rose (arriving at 5:45 a.m.!!) just to be on TV. CBS2's Vince Gerasole and cameraman Lou did a terrific job in helping us promote square dancing and show how fun it is.

Thanks to caller Tom Davis, and all the dancers who came out despite the early hour and the -5*F temperatures, including:

2014 Cherub Tip - Jan 7 party (2)

Polar vortices did not stop some 22 potential students from taking part in the Intro to SD party on Tuesday, despite temperatures hovering right around 0*F. Wally Smulson stepped in as a Guest Caller when Tom D was called away on business. Wally and Arlene together taught about 20 or more calls during the evening. Thrilled to have our new Cherubs step up and help out. A fun and delicious time was had by all.

Dec. 31, 2013 New Year's Eve SD Party (23)
Despite snow, snow and MORE snow, about 10 squares worth of people from clubs all around the Chicago area made the trek to Trinity Lutheran on New Year's Eve 2013 for the big dance. Callers Tom Davis, Bobby Poyner and Jimmy Robison, and cuer Howard Hoffman, made sure everyone had plenty of fun dance time. (Some of us also tried to answer the perennial question about the fox and his utterances.) Host clubs Fox Valley Mixers, Yellowrockers and Downers Grove Square Thrus provided a wonderful buffet dinner. In all, a great evening.

Fifteen new dancers from Glenview's Tuesday night classes made their club dance debut this evening. :-)
Their angels were very proud.

December 3, 2013 'What does the FOX say?' - GVS lessons (16)
On Dec. 3, Glenview Squares students found out what the Fox says. (Hint: it includes dosido and allemande left). We also welcomed visitors from Arlington Squares and Happy Twirlers. Our three callers were TOm Davis, Arlene Kaspik and Wally Smulson.
